This office manages all phases of delivery, from planning to occupancy, for all PGCPS projects, including new schools, additions to existing schools, minor renovations, and system upgrades and replacements. All projects are included in the annual Capital Improvement Program.
The project management team collaborates with the planning, design, and fiscal teams to see projects through construction and occupancy. Project managers develop project schedules and ensure each project stays on schedule and remains within or under budget.
This work is documented in various reports to keep the community informed of the progress status of all capital projects throughout the entire life cycle. View Reports.
The Department of Capital Programs separates its projects into two categories: major and minor projects. Major projects include large-scale renovations and new builds. Minor projects include mainly systemic upgrades to existing systems and schools. For example, new boilers or chillers would qualify as minor projects.
