William Wirt Middle School
Project Overview
The original 1964 William Wirt Middle School building is being replaced by a new 168,500-square-foot building that can serve up to 1,200 students. The project addresses critical issues such as overcrowding, poor air quality, and a failing building envelope, with a total estimated cost of approximately $85 million. Construction is being completed in four phases: site prep and modular relocation; main building construction; demolition of the old school; and site amenities such as ball fields and parking.
