Hyattsville Elementary School is undergoing a full redevelopment as part of Prince George’s County Public Schools’ Blueprint Schools Phase 2 P3 initiative. The new elementary school is scheduled to begin onsite demolition in Fall 2025, with construction continuing through Summer 2027 to prepare for the 2027–2028 school year.
The future building will total approximately 80,721 gross square feet, featuring a rooftop playground, community green space, garage parking, flexible collaboration areas, a dining commons, media center, gym with stage, and integrated arts and health suites. Designed for both school and community use, the new campus will offer modern, sustainable, and interactive learning environments aligned with 21st-century education needs.

The architects for Phase II created two design options for the eight schools in this phase. Like in Phase I, using prototypes helps speed up construction and lower costs, so students and staff can enjoy updated facilities sooner.
