Addresses employee performance and/or conduct concerns in such a manner as to maximize student achievement. ELRO is responsible for the facilitation of effective and efficient operations through the maintenance of positive relations with the labor organizations representing school system employees. ELRO provides assistance, training, and support to employee groups on various topics, such as ​the Negotiated Agreements policy, Employee Code of Conduct, and Administrative ​Procedure interpretation, as well as the progressive discipline​/corrective action process. ELRO also conducts thorough and timely investigations of employee matters.

Employment History - Child Sex Abuse & Misconduct Forms  (Former Employees Only)  

Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS), Employee and Labor Relations Office (ELRO) processes all requests from former employees to complete Child Sexual Abuse and Misconduct employment history forms as required by various states.

For tracking purposes and to ensure that your request is received, all forms should be emailed to elro.investigation@pgcps.org.  If you have any questions or would like to check on the status of your request, please call the Employee Labor Relations Office at 301-952-6385.   Requests are processed in the order received.

The Maryland Public Information Act (Md. Code, Gen. Prov. Art. section 4-101 et seq.) grants the public a broad right of access to inspect or copy public documents, subject to certain exceptions.

Self-Reporting Arrests, Criminal Charges, CPS Investigation and Finding, or Incarceration

Any person employed by PGCPS in any capacity (including, but not limited to full- or part-time, probationary or non-probationary, employed in a temporary or seasonal capacity, or substitute teachers) shall report an arrest, criminal charges, CPS Investigation and finding, or incarceration for certain offenses, as well as the disposition of any ensuing criminal proceeding. Unemployment Insurance

Unemployment Insurance is defined as a joint state-federal program that provides cash benefits to eligible workers.  Each state administers a separate unemployment insurance program.

Unemployment Insurance Claims are submitted when a former Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS) employee notifies a state unemployment agency that they are no longer employed with PGCPS and are requesting benefits.  State unemployment agencies then request employment information from the last employer listed by the claimant.
