Arrival and Dismissal Procedures

ID is required to pick up a student for dismissal. This includes from parents. The names of any person picking up a student must be listed on the Emergency Contact Form.

For the safety of our walking students, PGCPS Bus Riders and approved Day Care Vans will unload and load in designated areas in the front of the school. The Gate will be closed during arrival for car drop offs. Cars will not be permitted to drive up to the school during morning arrival or afternoon dismissal

Please view our Arrival and Dismissal Procedure Presentation for important information, including arrival and dismissal times as well as the designated arrival and dismissal locations for different grade-levels.

Arrival

Our school hours for students are from 7:30 am to 1:40 pm. Doors will open at 7:20 am for breakfast. To ensure safety, we ask that parents do not arrive before 7:20 am and that students use the crosswalks and sidewalks during morning drop-off. Please be aware of signs in place to assist with the drop-off process. If there are no available parking spots in the designated location, kindly park your vehicle on the street to prevent congestion at the entry gate. Our late bell rings at 7:45 am.

Breakfast and Lunch

Breakfast and lunch are free to all students at Kettering Elementary this school year. Breakfast is served from 7:20-7:45 am daily. Students eat breakfast in their classrooms at 7:20 am. Students arriving after 7:45 am, who are not bus riders, must be fed prior to reporting to school. Our late bell rings at 7:45 am.

Parking

Parking for morning and afternoon arrival is located in the lower parking lot and street. As a reminder, for the safety of the entire community, cars are not permitted in the upper parking lots during morning arrival and afternoon dismissal.

Drop Off

Students may be dropped off at the designated spot near the second gate (on the left side). We are referring to the lower parking lot that is close to the street. Parents are not permitted to exit the vehicles. This is a “Kiss and Go” location. Please have students exit the vehicle on the side that opens to the side-walk.

Parents wishing to walk with their child, check their clothing, have them finish eating, etc., must park in a parking space and walk up. The parking procedures will remain the same for all weather conditions.
