Dental Care

WHY IS GOOD DENTAL CARE IMPORTANT?

Good Dental Hygiene Keeps Youth Teeth and Gums Healthy. Although genetics play a large role in whether you get cavities, regular brushing and preventative dental care help keep your teeth and gums healthy. Brushing removes the plaque that causes tooth decay and stimulates your gums to help prevent gum disease. Periodontal (gum) disease is one of the most common human diseases. The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that children start seeing a dentist every six months, by their first birthday or once their first tooth emerges. As School Nurses, we encouraging parents to promote Oral health: teach your child how to brush, make healthy food and drink choices.
