All clothing must adhere to the PGCPS Dress Code Policy as found in the Rights and Responsibilities Handbook under Section 10: Policies and Procedures, and follow the recommended guidelines from Sonia Sotomayor Middle School at Adelphi.

We encourage students to wear a uniform that is consistent with the System-wide Student Dress Code, Administrative Procedure 5152. The school community will revisit Administrative Procedure 0114 during the school year for any necessary modifications.

VERY IMPORTANT: Please read through the General Guidelines to Follow for ALL Grades and the grade level guidelines below.

"At present, clear backpacks are optional for sixth- through eighth-graders. PGCPS will evaluate the policy for middle school grades at the end of the first semester and communicate any modifications prior to the end of Winter Break. Mesh alternatives are not allowed."

Our school uniform shirt colors will follow students as they progress through the grade levels. For example, this year's 7th grade shirt color will be next school year's 8th grade shirt color. This year's 8th grade color will become next year's 6th grade color.
