Dear Parents/Guardians and incoming 6^th Grade Students:

We hope you and your families are enjoying summer break!! We are looking forward to a very exciting and rewarding school year. We would like to take this opportunity to inform you of some important information about the upcoming 2024-2025 school year here at Sonia Sotomayor Middle School at Adelphi…where we are the Home of the Bobcats!

Uniform Policy

Please be advised of our school uniform policy; Students are required to wear SOLID LIGHT GOLD POLO SHIRTS with TAN KHAKI PANTS OR SKIRTS (NO JEANS).

There will be a 6th-grade orientation held at SSMS on August 23, 2024, from 9:00 am - 1:10 pm. Buses will begin arriving at the school around 9:00 am. Please refer to the county's website at www.pgcps.org for further information. Students will learn about goals, student expectations, and academic overview, and receive their schedules. On this day, students will visit some of their classes and become familiar with the building's setting before the first day of school. Please make sure that you complete the following form if you qualify for free and reduced-priced meals.
