Principal's Message

Dear Scotchtown Hills Elementary School Families and Community Partners,

It is with great excitement and a deep sense of responsibility that I write to introduce myself as the new Principal of Scotchtown Hills Elementary School. As a parent, a lifelong learner, and an educator with over twenty years of experience in school and district leadership, I am thrilled to join this wonderful community.

My educational philosophy is rooted in a fundamental truth: elementary school is not just the start of an academic career; it is where the love of learning grows and blossoms. I believe with all my heart that every child can and will learn, but not every child learns on the same day or in the same way. To unlock your child's full potential, our school will focus heavily on three core pillars:

1. Safety and Belonging First: True learning begins with a culture where every student feels safe, seen, and valued.
2. Curiosity Over Compliance: We want to cultivate a lifelong love for learning. Our classrooms will be orderly, safe, joyful, rigorous environments filled with learning and discovery.
3. Equity through Personalization: We are committed to giving each student strong foundational skills and critical thinking skills—especially early literacy mastery and mathematics proficiency.

Here at Scotchtown Hills, we strive for students to be “Habitually Present”. Please help us achieve this goal so teachers and staff can deliver the high-quality education your child deserves.  Students should be in school every day.
