Dear Scotchtown Hills Elementary School Families, Staff, and Community Stakeholders,
I am pleased to share an important leadership update with the Scotchtown Hills Elementary School community.
First, I would like to extend my deepest appreciation and heartfelt congratulations to Principal Prevost as she begins her well-earned retirement. Principal Prevost's connection to Scotchtown Hills Elementary School spans decades of dedicated service, first as a teacher, then as assistant principal, and ultimately as principal. Throughout her remarkable career, she has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the students, families, staff, and community she has faithfully served.
Principal Prevost's leadership has been rooted in a deep love for Scotchtown Hills and a steadfast belief in the potential of every child. Her tireless efforts to foster meaningful relationships, support academic excellence, and cultivate a caring and inclusive school culture have left an enduring legacy that will continue to shape the school for years to come. On behalf of Prince George's County Public Schools and Cluster 16, I extend our sincere gratitude for her extraordinary service and wish her continued happiness, good health, and fulfillment in this next chapter of her life.
As we celebrate Principal Prevost's many contributions, I am equally excited to announce the appointment of Mr. Nee as the new Principal of Scotchtown Hills Elementary School, effective July 13, 2026.
Mr. Nee is a dedicated educational leader who brings a strong commitment to student achievement, instructional excellence, and collaborative leadership. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a passion for supporting educators, building strong partnerships with families, and creating learning environments where every student is empowered to succeed. His thoughtful, student-centered leadership and commitment to continuous improvement position him well to build upon the proud traditions and strong foundation established at Scotchtown Hills Elementary School.
I am confident that Mr. Nee will work alongside students, staff, families, and community partners to continue strengthening the school's culture of excellence while honoring the legacy that has made Scotchtown Hills such a special place. Together, we will remain focused on providing engaging, high-quality learning experiences and ensuring every student is supported, challenged, and inspired to reach their fullest potential.
There will be opportunities for Mr. Nee to meet and connect with staff, families, and the greater school community before the start of the 2026–2027 school year. Additional information regarding these opportunities will be shared in the coming weeks.
Please join me in expressing our heartfelt gratitude to Principal Prevost for her decades of extraordinary service and unwavering dedication to Scotchtown Hills Elementary School, and in extending a warm Cluster 16 welcome to Mr. Nee as he begins this exciting new journey with the school community.
Thank you for your continued partnership and commitment to the success of every Scotchtown Hills student.
Sincerely,
Andrew Dalton Instructional Director, Cluster 16 Prince George's County Public School
