Caroline Matthews

President

My name is Caroline D. Matthews, and I am a proud mother of seven with more than 30 years of experience working with children. I currently serve as an Autism SPED Paraprofessional in the county, a role that has strengthened my passion for supporting students, families, and school communities.

I chose to serve as PTA President because I genuinely love working with children and believe strongly in the power of teamwork. I am committed to bringing parents, teachers, staff, and the community together with a shared purpose: building a strong, supportive school environment where every child can succeed.

I believe the PTA plays a vital role in fostering positive relationships among families, educators, and the broader community. When these connections are strong, students benefit not only academically, but socially as well. A united school community creates an environment where students feel supported, valued, and encouraged to thrive.

In this role, I look forward to increasing parent engagement, strengthening community involvement, and providing meaningful support to our teachers and staff. I am especially excited to help create opportunities for students through impactful programs, events, and fundraising efforts that enhance their overall school experience.

I also bring prior experience serving on a PTA board in Alexandria, Virginia, for my granddaughter, as well as current experience serving on the PTA board at the school where I work. These experiences have given me valuable insight into how effective PTAs operate and how collaboration can drive success.

I believe that if I can dedicate my time and service to schools where my child does not attend, it is just as important—if not more—to support the school community where my child is a student. I am fully committed to making a positive impact and working collaboratively to support all students and families.
