Visitors
Visitors are welcomed to visit with proper approval from the main office. With approval, visitors will be given a visitor badge that is to be visible throughout the building. Visits should not interrupt the instructional program. All visitors must obtain and display a pass at all times while in the building. Conferences are to be prearranged and must not interfere with the daily instructional program.
Parent/Teacher Organization (PTO)
The Ridgecrest PTO is open to anyone interested in working for the welfare of our school and students. All parents and guardians are encouraged to join and participate in PTO activities. Please contact our Community Outreach Assistant, Montseratt Andrade to obtain more information about how to join PTO.
Grades & Reports Cards
Prince George's County Public Schools uses the Synergy Student Information System to manage student data, including grades, attendance records, and schedules. The Family Access Portal that allows authorized caretakers to log into ParentVUE from any computer with an Internet connection and view the child's student information, including current attendance records and assignment scores.
Report cards are sent home with students in November, February and April. In June they are mailed to the students’ home.
Contact Your Child’s Teacher
Parents and guardians may contact their child’s teacher via email, parent communication folder or phone. The parent communication folder will be sent home on the last day of the week with students. For email and phone please use the staff email list or school phone (301) 853-0820.
Volunteering
Ridgecrest Elementary welcomes parent volunteers! Effective January 2007, the Board of Education developed volunteer requirements that must be strictly enforced. The policy requires that volunteers undergo a background check to ensure safety for students, staff and fellow volunteers at schools
*All field trip chaperones and volunteers who work in the classroom on a regular basis MUST undergo a background check and be fingerprinted. This can be done at :
