Educators at Perrywood Elementary believe that our students must have access to technology and be able to use it effectively in order to meet the challenges that they will face in the 21st century. Making computers available to all students and having a local area network and access to resources on the World Wide Web has been a priority. Perrywood’s classrooms and resource rooms have at least five computers and Internet access so that teachers and students may communicate electronically and share in the advantages available through the use of technology. In addition to the technology resources in classrooms, computer lab, the Media Center houses computer workstations for students' and teachers' use for research and training.
Technology available to Perrywood students and staff are:
- Wireless mobile laptop labs for classroom use.
- Internet-based library catalog and checkout system.
Video and digital cameras.- LCD Projectors and video visualizers, wireless tablets.
- Interactive Smartboards for small and whole group instruction.
- Scanners, network printing capabilities.
Wireless network.- Computer lab for training and instruction.
- Closed-circuit television system and a fully functional television.
- Green screen studio where a morning news show is produced daily.
