Mattaponi Elementary School is home to a dedicated staff, capable students and supportive parents. Our school is a Learning Community in which all stakeholders have a role in the decision-making that affects the educational program for children. The school’s “Open Door” policy invites and strongly encourages parents to be a vital part of their child’s education. Volunteerism is high and provides a medium through which the school can provide the best possible academic setting for every child. Our instructional staff utilizes research-based strategies, presents engaging lessons and attends on-going professional development opportunities to ensure that our students meet the challenges of rigorous curriculum expectations. Our teachers set high expectations for students and the academic climate is conducive to all children reaching their full potential. Mattaponi ES has an active and effective Parent Teacher Organization that provides a variety of family-oriented social, academic and enrichment activities. The cohesive bond between staff, students and parents is our greatest strength! We are proud of our school’s accomplishments and stand ready to continue the tradition of academic excellence!
