Dr. Davis' Retirement Letter
Dr. Davis' Retirement Letter
Dear University Park Families,
It is with a full and grateful heart that I share some personal news with you. After 31 years in public education and 12 incredible years serving as principal of University Park Elementary, I have decided to retire at the end of this school year.
This was not an easy decision. University Park is more than a school; it is a community grounded in care, collaboration, and high expectations for every child and staff member. I am extremely proud of our collective work to ensure that University Park is a place where we celebrate, encourage, and continuously push staff to do what is best for children, and where children are happy, enjoy school, and want to learn each and every day.
Together, we have worked intentionally to break down barriers for families so that school can be a rewarding, welcoming, and inclusive experience. We have guided every step by what is right for children, whether by expanding access to enrichment opportunities, strengthening partnerships, or deepening our instructional practices.
As we look ahead, Mr. Darryl Evans, Instructional Director for University Park Elementary School, will inform the community of the next steps in the process for selecting the next principal of University Park. I am confident that the thoughtful process outlined by the district will ensure continued strong leadership for our school community.
Serving this community has been one of the greatest honors of my professional life. While this transition is bittersweet, I remain fully committed to leading our school community with the same dedication and care you have come to expect through the end of this school year.
Thank you for your trust, your partnership, and the opportunity to serve your children.
With gratitude,
Toi Davis, Ed.D.
Principal
University Park Elementary School
