Arts Integration is an approach to teaching in which students construct and demonstrate understanding through an art form. Students engage in a creative process which connects an art form and another subject area and meets evolving objectives in both.
The mission of the Allenwood Robotics Program is to introduce students in grades 5 and 6 to the role of engineers in today’s society and connect what students learn in school with real-world engineering concepts.
Participating in the Program helps students develop comprehension and problem-solving skills; encourages teamwork and self-confidence; and can promote meaningful mentor relationships with STEM professionals.
In addition to developing students’ STEM skills (science, technology, engineering, and math), each project also integrates reading, writing, and public speaking with hands-on, project-based learning.
