Frederick Douglass High School Class of 2026 Achieves More Than $24.7 Million in Scholarships

The Class of 2026 at Frederick Douglass High School continues to demonstrate exceptional excellence, earning an extraordinary $24,758,135 in scholarships and financial awards. This milestone reflects the hard work, resilience, and determination of a graduating class that continues to raise the standard for achievement in Prince George's County.

Among the many accomplishments, several students stand out for their outstanding scholarship awards and national recognition.

Posse Scholar Makalya Bryant will continue her academic journey at the University of Rochester, where she will further develop her leadership and academic talents as part of one of the nation's most prestigious scholarship programs.

Chloe Moss has been selected for the C.D. Mote, Jr. Incentive Awards Program (IAP) Maryland Promise Scholarship, earning a full-ride opportunity to the University of Maryland. Her achievement reflects both academic excellence and a commitment to continued success at the highest level.

Kennedy Mackall distinguished herself with an exceptional series of full-ride scholarship offers, including the Presidential Scholarship to Coppin State University, the prestigious Banneker/Key Scholarship to the University of Maryland, and the Honors Distinguished Scholars Program Scholarship to the North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. Her accomplishments highlight a rare level of academic excellence and opportunity.

Marley Lawrence also earned the Presidential Scholarship, a full-ride award to Coppin State University, further showcasing the strength and talent of this graduating class.

Together, these students represent the very best of Frederick Douglass High School — scholars who have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership, and determination while opening doors to extraordinary futures.
