The staff of Tulip Grove Elementary School welcomes you. We look forward to supporting each of our TIGERS as they Bloom from Great to Exceptional! With the support of parents, teachers, and our entire school community, we know they will achieve amazing things this school year.
When our students come to us, they enter our doors with so many Great attributes and characteristics. Our job is to ensure they Bloom into Exceptional Students when they depart in 5th grade. To accomplish this, Tulip Grove Elementary School will provide each student with a differentiated, engaging, and age-appropriate rigorous instructional program. Students will have the opportunity to learn from highly effective educators that promote critical thinking, problem solving, collaboration, and inquisitiveness. Students will develop a joy for learning in a nurturing environment where taking risks and making mistakes are the norm.
To support students with building these important characteristics. Our TIGER Positive Behavior Initiative is an integral part of our work. We call our students TIGERS and expect them to demonstrate the TIGER Characteristics in and out of the school. This work is important to us, we want our TIGERS to be intelligent but more importantly we want them to be good humans who are kind and make an impact on this world by helping, uplifting, and celebrating others!
Tigers are students who are always Thinking showing Integrity and Generosity and are Engaged and Respectful!
Of course, our TIGERS will have to do their part to ensure they meet and exceed the high expectations that will be established for them here at Tulip Grove. Each quarter you are encouraged to establish goals with your child and develop a plan to ensure success. Parents are also encouraged to keep an open line of communication with teachers and administration. Our school website and the PGCPS Family Portal are a great means to ensure you are fully aware of your child’s academic and social progress as well as school happenings.
Our family handbook is provided in an effort to inform parents/guardians and students of basic school policies and procedures. Please use it as a reference when questions arise. It advances the child’s academic progress by serving as consistent two-way communication between school and home. Please review the family handbook together with your child. We will also communicate with you through email, our bi-weekly newsletter The TIGER TALE, robo calls, and Grade Level updates.
We are looking forward to a banner year working with you and your TIGER!
