Pointer Ridge is one of several neighborhoods in Bowie, Maryland designed and constructed by the Levitt company in the late 1960s. The land for Pointer Ridge Elementary School was purchased in 1970 by Prince George’s Public Schools and the school opened in January of 1972.
Pointer Ridge Elementary School is a community based elementary school located at 1110 Parkington Lane in Bowie, Maryland. The student population of Pointer Ridge Elementary is approximately 370 students and serves K-5th grade.
The school has a long history of longevity with their leadership and teaching staff. The school is continuing to grow with the addition of a specialized program for students with Autism in addition to the growing housing community of Bowie.
