Welcome to the 2026–2027 School Year!

Nina Lattimore

Dear Phyllis E. Williams Spanish Immersion School Community,

It is with great excitement and gratitude that I welcome you to the 2026–2027 school year! I am truly honored to serve as the  principal of Phyllis E. Williams Spanish Immersion School (PEW). I look forward to partnering with our students, families, staff, and community as we continue the tradition of excellence that makes PEW so special.

Being bilingual has been at the heart of my educational and professional journey. My love for the Spanish language began with a teacher who brought Spanish to life through the arts. I still remember learning verb tenses through music, movement, and creativity—an experience that not only made learning meaningful but also sparked a lifelong passion for language and culture. That experience shaped my belief that students learn best when instruction is engaging, creative, and connected to their individual strengths.

Throughout my career, I have remained committed to creating learning experiences where every child is challenged, supported, and empowered to take ownership of their learning. I believe in differentiated instruction that meets students where they are while encouraging them to grow, think critically, and become confident global learners.

This is the vision I hope to continue building at Phyllis E. Williams. Together, we will cultivate a school where students are inspired to learn, lead, and succeed in and out of the classroom. We will celebrate our rich bilingual and multicultural community while providing meaningful opportunities for every student to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

As we begin this new chapter together, I am excited to listen, learn, and collaborate with each of you as we continue to grow and strengthen our Spanish Immersion program. Together, we will build upon the outstanding foundation that already exists and continue all the great things that make Phyllis E. Williams an exceptional place for children to learn.

Thank you for welcoming me into this wonderful school community. I look forward to meeting each of you and to an amazing year filled with learning, growth, and celebration.

With gratitude,

Nina Lattimore
