We are a Professional Development School!
Oaklands Elementary School is fortunate to have a strong partnership with Bowie State University. We are a Professional Development School that works closely with students from Bowie State who are interested in entering the field of education. These students come regularly to observe the classroom and interact with the students. Some even fulfill graduation requirements by completing their student teaching which allows them to work closely with the teacher and gain experience in planning and teaching lessons, using the curriculum, being a disciplinarian, and managing a classroom of students.
