Dear Longfields Elementary School Parents and Families,

As we approach the final stretch of the school year, I want to take a moment to encourage everyone to help their child finish strong in Quarter 4. The last few weeks of school are crucial for students, and I kindly ask that you ensure your child does not miss school during this important time. Attendance is key, as every day of learning matters.

Stay on Track with Synergy
I also encourage both parents and students to check Synergy on a weekly basis to track task completion, performance on assessments, and progress on projects. By staying informed about your child’s learning, we can ensure that they are fully prepared for the end of the year and ready to succeed.

Summer Enrichment Kit
In an effort to keep students engaged in learning over the summer, each student in Grades 1-5 will receive a Summer Planning Enrichment Kit. This kit will include both fiction and nonfiction texts that are grade-appropriate, as well as a Summer Bridge enrichment book. I recommend that students complete a little bit of the kit each day to maintain and build on the skills they’ve developed throughout the school year. Engaging in daily learning will help ensure that students are well-prepared to start the next school year with confidence. All Summer Enrichment Kits, school supply lists and additional materials will be sent home two weeks before the last day of school, which is June 4, 2025.

Community Budget Meetings
Lastly, as we enter budget season, we want to inform our community that there will be upcoming budget meetings where you can provide your valuable input. Due to potential reductions in funding, we are facing the possibility of staff reductions for the 2025-2026 school year. Your feedback is crucial, and I encourage you to attend these meetings and share your thoughts and suggestions.

Queridos Padres y Familiares de la Escuela Primaria Longfields,
Al acercarnos a la recta final del año escolar, quiero animar a todos a ayudar a sus hijos a terminar el cuarto trimestre con éxito. Las últimas semanas de clases son cruciales para los estudiantes, y les pido que se aseguren de que sus hijos no falten a la escuela durante este período tan importante. La asistencia es fundamental, ya que cada día de aprendizaje cuenta.

Manténgase al día con SynergyTambién animo a padres y alumnos a consultar Synergy semanalmente para dar seguimiento a la finalización de tareas, el rendimiento en las evaluaciones y el progreso en los proyectos. Al mantenerse informados sobre el aprendizaje de sus hijos, podemos asegurarnos de que estén completamente preparados para el final del año y listos para el éxito.

Kit de Enriquecimiento de VeranoPara mantener a los estudiantes motivados en su aprendizaje durante el verano, cada estudiante de 1.º a 5.º grado recibirá un Kit de Enriquecimiento de Planificación de Verano. Este kit incluirá textos de ficción y no ficción apropiados para su grado, así como un libro de enriquecimiento "Puente de Verano". Recomiendo que los estudiantes completen una parte del kit cada día para mantener y fortalecer las habilidades que han desarrollado a lo largo del año escolar. Participar en el aprendizaje diario ayudará a asegurar que los estudiantes estén bien preparados para comenzar el próximo año escolar con confianza. Todos los Kits de Enriquecimiento de Verano, las listas de útiles escolares y los materiales adicionales se enviarán a casa dos semanas antes del último día de clases, que es el 4 de junio de 2025.

Reuniones Comunitarias sobre el PresupuestoPor último, al iniciarse la temporada presupuestaria, queremos informar a nuestra comunidad que próximamente se celebrarán reuniones sobre el presupuesto donde podrán aportar sus valiosas opiniones. Debido a posibles reducciones de fondos, nos enfrentamos a la posibilidad de reducir personal para el ciclo escolar 2025-2026.
