Dear James E. Duckworth Community,
It is with great pleasure, excitement, and sincere gratitude for the opportunity to serve the James E. Duckworth Regional School community as Acting Principal. James E. Duckworth is very near and dear to my heart, as this is where I started my career in Prince George’s County Public Schools thirteen years ago. The students here have driven my passion to educate and advocate for those most deserving. My mission is to continue to support an environment of student-centered academic excellence focusing on individual needs, interests, and abilities, through collaboration with the families and the community. Working collaboratively, we will foster continuous improvement, ensuring equity for all, and celebrating our uniqueness in a safe and respectful environment.
I am a proud graduate of Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS). Additionally, I have committed my twenty-one years of service to the students, staff, and families of PGCPS. As previously shared, I was a teacher at James Duckworth supporting students to reach their fullest potential. Most recently, I was the Special Education Administrator over the Comprehensive Regional Program at Fairmont Heights High School serving the administrative team to support the entire student body and staff.
Working in Prince George’s County Public Schools is not only my career, it is my passion. I am dedicated to making a difference and ensuring every student has the opportunity to succeed. I firmly believe that it is our responsibility to create an environment where students can thrive. As we embark on this journey together, my primary goal is to ensure that James E. Duckworth continues to improve and be a place of high expectations and standards. Where we embrace new ideas and approaches that will help us reach even greater heights.
I look forward to meeting you and hearing about your aspirations for your children and our school. We will have a Meet & Greet on August 8, 2024 from 10am-12pm join us for popsicles with the principal. Together we can make the 2024-2025 school year an academically rewarding experience.
