Parent and Family Engagement Events
The ESSA & Title I Office is excited to invite families to participate in virtual Family Fun Nights aimed at strengthening skills in math, literacy, and social-emotional development.
Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS) teams have mobilized over the past 48 hours to clear parking lots, critical building entrances, and surrounding sidewalks. Despite these efforts, temperatures remain low with wind chills, and ice on secondary roads continues to create hazardous travel conditions.
Our accessibility and safety assessments indicate that many areas remain unsafe for students and staff to navigate.
Out of an abundance of caution and in an effort to ensure a safe and stable reopening environment, all schools will be closed Thursday, January 9.
In conjunction with the PGCPS teleworking and liberal leave policy, we are confident that we can continue to work towards a safe reopening of our entire district.
Code Blue: All schools closed. Central and regional offices will open two hours late. All 12-month personnel are expected to report. A Liberal Leave policy will be in effect for non-emergency personnel. Emergency personnel must report to work on time and are not eligible for Liberal Leave.
To support families during this closure, grab-and-go meals will continue to be available at the following distribution sites from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.:

For every field experience at HBOSC there are pre-visit and post visit materials to support the student learning process. Pre-visit materials are optional activities to be completed prior to students participating in the field experience at HBOSC, which might be virtual (live) or on site at the center. Post visit materials are optional activities that reinforce and extend learning beyond the field experience. To access these resources visit the HBOSC Google Site
