In accordance with the Administrative Procedure #0600 – Identification of School System Mandatory Uniform Policy, Gaywood Elementary has elected to implement a mandatory uniform policy for all students. This policy is one that requires students at Gaywood Elementary to wear an adopted system-wide school uniform that is consistent with the school system’s Dress Code Policy. Uniforms are required to be worn by all students daily. Students should also practice good hygiene and take pride in their appearance. Hairstyles must be neat and completely groomed prior to arrival at school.
The Student Dress Code Policy is subject to annual review. Violations to this dress code will result in school disciplinary action and/or transfer to another school. In order to qualify for any school sponsored field trips or extracurricular activities students must be in complete uniform at all times. Recurrent and inappropriate dress during “dress up” days will result in exclusion of the students from “dress up” day and other extra-curricular activities privileges. Students must adhere to the dress code policy found in the PGCPS Student Rights and Responsibilities Handbook at all times.
