Welcome Assistant Principal Mrs. Venecia Simms

Dear Suitland Elementary School Families, Staff, and Community,

My name is Mrs. Venecia Simms and it is with great excitement and gratitude that I introduce myself as the new Assistant Principal of Suitland Elementary School. I am honored to join this incredible school community and look forward to partnering with each of you as we work together to ensure every student thrives academically, socially, and emotionally.

For the past nine years, I have served as an Assistant Principal in Prince George's County Public Schools, where I have had the privilege of supporting students, teachers, and families while fostering a positive school culture focused on high expectations, meaningful relationships, and student success. Throughout my career in education, I have remained committed to creating learning environments where every child feels valued, supported, challenged, and inspired to reach their fullest potential.

I believe that strong schools are built on strong relationships. My goal is to be a visible, approachable, and collaborative leader who listens, learns, and works alongside staff, students, families, and community partners. I value open communication and believe that when we work together with a shared purpose, we create the best opportunities for our children to succeed.

As I begin this new journey at Suitland Elementary, I am eager to learn about the school's traditions, celebrate its many accomplishments, and build upon the strong foundation already in place. I look forward to getting to know each of you, supporting our outstanding teachers and staff, and celebrating the many successes our students will achieve throughout the school year.
