Additional ways to help your student at home:

- Practice writing first and last name 

- Practice your home address and phone number 

- Practice TYING shoes 

- Practice forming/writing letters of the alphabet (Uppercase & Lowercase) 

- Recognize letters, sounds, and their relationships in forming words 

- Practice counting objects up to 50 and sequencing groups of 0-20 

- Practice classifying and sorting objects by characteristics 

- Identifying shapes and characteristics of shapes 

- Practice writing basic sentences using sentence stems: I like ____; I can _____; We can ____; I go ____; The dog _____; My mom ______ 

- READ EVERYDAY FOR AT LEAST 20-30 minutes 

- Practice retelling stories read together and identify beginning, middle, end, characters, setting, problem and solution 

- Discuss with your Kindergartener your behavior expectations in school 

- REVIEW RULES AND SAFETY PROCEDURES when coming to school, during school, dismissal from school and STRANGERS 

- PLEASE CHECK YOUR KINDERGARTENERS BACKPACK DAILY FOR HOMEWORK, NOTES, IMPORTANT INFORMATION AND FORMS
