Division of Rehabilitation Services
The Maryland Division of Rehabilitation Services offers two specific programs to help youth with documented disabilities prepare for employment.
- Pre-Employment Transition Services for students at least 14 years old, in at least high school, and no more than 21 years old. For more information, visit Pre-ETS Fact Sheet.
- Vocational Rehabilitation Service for adults and students beginning as early as one's next to last year of high school.
Developmental Disabilities Administration
Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA)
The Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) provides a coordinated service delivery system, so that people with developmental disabilities receive appropriate services oriented toward the goal of full integration into their community, including obtaining and maintaining integrated competitive employment. Eligibility is based on priority, availability of needed services and funding, and acceptance by the agency of the client's application.
Maryland Department of Labor
The mission of Maryland Department of Labor's Youth Employment Program is to guide youth to achieve personal goals and prepare for career paths through empowerment, education, and employment opportunities.
The Youth Employment Program provides tools for Maryland youth between the ages of 16 and 24 to fulfill their educational goals and explore the world of work by providing educational support, leadership development, and work training.
Behavioral Health Administration (BHA)
Behavioral Health Administration
BHA is part of the Maryland Department of Health (MDH) that serves people with mental illness and/or problems with alcohol and drug use. BHA funds and administers programs including but not limited to: psychiatric inpatient care, residential treatment, routine and intensive outpatient care, crisis services, rehabilitation services, family support, supported housing and supported employment for people with mental illness.
