College Career Research and Development Courses (CCRD)

The CCRD courses are offered as a program completer in the high school level for students with or without disabilities. 

 

College Career Research and Development I (CCRD I)

College Career Research and Development empowers students to create a vision of their future through quality academic coursework, progressive career development, and work-based learning opportunities. CCRD I is designed to teach students the process of work-based learning opportunities. CCRD I is designed to teach students the process of self-awareness, career exploration, interest and aptitude assessment, and setting  academic and career related goals. Course content will integrate the development of students' competency in business writing, basic concepts of financial literacy, and Skills for Success (learning, critical thinking, communication, technology, and interpersonal). Students taking this course begin to develop a career portfolio demonstrating workplace and academic readiness. 

 

College Career Research and Development II (CCRD II) (Work) 

Students receive up to two credits while employed at a school-approved and monitored job sites in private industry and government agencies. The work component allows student to put into practice the basic employability skills and academic content they acquire in the classroom. They attend school part of the day where they are concurrently enrolled in Career Research and Development I. The student's portfolio documents proficiency in workplace readiness skills as indicated in the student's work-based learning training plan.
