Early Entrance to Kindergarten

A parent/guardian may make a request for early entrance into kindergarten if the child turns five (5) years of age between September 2 and October 15, of the school year for which they are requesting early entrance. 

Prince George's County Public Schools (PGCPS) online applications for Early Entrance to Kindergarten for the 2026-2027 school year will be open from April 7, 2026 to June 1, 2026; no exceptions. *A Student ID is required to submit an Early Entrance to Kindergarten application. Student ID requests can be made through ParentVUE. * Student ID requests should be made by Wednesday, May 27, 2026 to ensure families are able to complete the Early Entrance Application by June 1, 2026.*

Children being considered for Early Entrance into Kindergarten must show mastery of Prekindergarten standards in reading and math and striving efforts towards Kindergarten standards as measured by assessments administered by Prince George’s County Public School District.
