Early Entrance to Kindergarten

A parent/guardian may make a request for early entrance into kindergarten if the child turns five (5) years of age between September 2 and October 15, of the school year for which they are requesting early entrance. 

Prince George's County Public School (PGCPS) online applications for Early Entrance to Kindergarten for the 2024-2025 school year at the  boundary school begins early April (an exact date is to be determined).

No applications for Early Entrance will be accepted after June 1, 2024; no exceptions.

Children being considered for Early Entrance into Kindergarten must demonstrate kindergarten readiness by showing mastery of Prekindergarten standards in Language & Literacy and Mathematics and striving efforts towards Kindergarten standards as measured by assessments administered by Prince George’s County Public School District.
