Dear Prince George's County Public Schools Community,
As we count down to a well-deserved winter break, I am pleased to share with you my 90-Day Report, a roadmap that charts the course for immediate actions and future strategies to shape the future of Prince George's County Public Schools (PGCPS).
Since stepping into the role of Superintendent, I've had the privilege of engaging with thousands of students, families, educators, community members, elected officials, and business leaders through the Listen. Lead. Learn. Town Hall series, surveys, community events and more.
In the report, you'll find a roadmap that outlines immediate actions and future strategies. These initiatives align with the four focus areas identified in my Entry Plan: equitable teaching and learning environments, proactive safety and security, a strong operational and financial core, and meaningful family and community engagement.
Some immediate actions include strengthening ties with parent and community leaders, enhancing school safety, and conducting an audit to improve the reliability of transportation services for our 85,000 school bus riders. Additionally, the plan identifies key outcomes, such as new strategies for serving special education students, improving customer service, staffing and recruitment, and the establishment of advisory teams for students, principals, and teachers.
Connecting with you has been instrumental in understanding not only the needs of our district but also countless opportunities — and this report will serve as a starting point to guide our work supporting students and families, fostering operational excellence, and ensuring efficiency in PGCPS schools and offices.
I am committed to providing regular updates on key initiatives as we make progress, and your feedback and active participation will continue to be valued.
Thank you for entrusting me with the privilege of serving as your Superintendent. I look forward to continued collaboration and the success ahead.
Sincerely,
Millard House II
Superintendent
