Greenbelt Middle School's Chinese Immersion Program marked the arrival of the Lunar New Year and Year of the Dragon with a vibrant two-day celebration, bringing students and staff together to explore and embrace Chinese culture!
Festivities included performances of the traditional dragon dance and engaging hands-on activities such as script writing, cut-out artwork and hanging art. Beyond the dragon dance and activities, students delved into the meaning behind fortune cookies and explored traditional Chinese foods.
Danielle Jackson, Physical Education teacher and School Based Equity Lead, emphasized the significance of exposing students to diverse cultural experiences, ensuring that all backgrounds are celebrated and broadening students' perspectives for an inclusive learning environment.
