Pride Month Resources

Pride flag

The month of June has been designated (LGTBQIA+) Pride Month. During the month of June, communities across the United States and the world recognize the role of LGBTQIA+ rights activists and commemorate the Stonewall Riots that occurred in June of 1969, an event widely recognized as the catalyst for the LGBTQIA+ rights movement. The observance affirms the celebration and recognition of the status and rights of LGBTQIA+ students, staff, and families in the Prince George’s County Public School System.

The Board of Education prohibits discrimination in all PGCPS activities on the basis of actual or perceived sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression as well as race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, marital status, genetic information, citizenship status or disability
