The Program for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Students (DHOH) provides instructional support and services for students with hearing disabilities, birth through age 21.
Auditory/Oral and Total Communication are the two communication methodologies used for instruction. Parents and Infants receive instruction in the home. Toddlers through high school receive instruction from certified teachers of the deaf and hard of hearing in their boundary comprehensive school.
To determine if a student is eligible for services through the DHOH program, the school IEP team follows the Special Education referral process. Parents must submit a copy of an audiological report completed no more than one year prior to the school team meeting.
