About Immunization Exclusion
About Immunization Exclusion
Effective September 14, 2026, students who do not have required immunizations per Maryland State law will be excluded from school. (Students enrolled after August 25, 2026 have 20 calendar days from their enrollment date to provide proof of compliance.)
The Immunization Exclusion process is as follows:
- Parents/guardians of students missing required immunizations will receive a personalized version of the Immunization Exclusion letter below by email and in their child’s backpack.
- Parents/guardians of students who have health insurance coverage should immediately make an appointment with their child’s healthcare provider to receive the required immunizations. Families with uninsured or underinsured students should make an appointment for a free clinic.
- Once a parent/guardian has proof of immunization, they can share it with their child’s school and their student may return. If a student who has been excluded comes to school without proper documentation, parents/guardians will be immediately contacted to arrange for their student's pickup.
- Students not in school due to Immunization Exclusion will continue to receive their schoolwork for completion during exclusion.
- If you have any questions, please contact your student’s school nurse.
