Is transportation provided to homeless students? 

Yes, if the student requires transportation to attend the school that is determined to be in the student’s best interest, comparable transportation services will be provided. Students who live in a school walk zone WILL NOT receive transportation.

How do I ask for transportation for my child? 

As long as the address is not in a walk zone for the school the child will attend, the school registrar can assist you with requesting transportation. Students who live in a school walk zone WILL NOT receive transportation.

How long will it take for the transportation to start? 

Every attempt will be made to provide transportation within five(5) school days of the correct address being provided to the school registrar. 

How will I find the transportation route? 

The Department of Transportation will call the phone number or email the parent/guardian at the phone number or email provided at registration. The phone call or email will have the bus information.

It is best to follow up with the school registrar responsible for McKinney-Vento registration at your child's school to make sure the correct address for transportation has been entered for your child.
