Core Functions and Responsibilities
It is the responsibility of the Human Resources Office of Certification to ensure all educators in Prince George's County Public Schools (PGCPS) are in compliance with the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) certification regulations in the area(s) taught.
The core functions and responsibilities of the Certification Office include the issuance of initial Maryland Educator Certificates; in addition, we answer certification inquiries. We also review and process certificate renewals, endorsement requests, salary educational lane changes, and tuition reimbursement.
