Child & Adult Care Food Program

The PGCPS  Food and Nutrition Department provides close to 100,000 students nutritious meals each day. In addition, the Department plays a vital role in positively shaping the nutritional habits of children that are enrolled in licensed family home and center care.

The Food and Nutrition Department serves as a sponsor of the federally funded Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) for the Prince George’s County community of licensed child care providers.  Licensed family and center child care providers who serve meals to children in their care are entitled to receive food subsidy money to help enhance the nutritional quality of the meals they serve.

The CACFP also offers a venue for licensed providers to network with each other, receive free clock hour training that is approved by the Maryland State Department of Education, and as mentioned earlier, receive a monthly check to help serve nutritious meals to the children in their care.

Parents – Is your daycare provider using the program?

Providers – Are you a licensed care provider and could use a little monetary help feeding the children you serve?
