Prince George’s County Public Schools has expanded access to nutritious, hot meals for students through a new after school Hot Supper Program, part of our effort to keep students healthy, supported, and ready to learn!
The Hot Supper Program offers students in after-school programs a hot, balanced meal — replacing the standard cold bag meals with a more satisfying option that supports well-being and participation.
Schools with a Free and Reduced-Price Meals (FARMS) rate of 50% or higher and with at least 75 students in after-school programs are eligible to join the Hot Supper Program under program regulations.
“Students who know they can get a hot meal at the end of the day are more likely to stay engaged and participate in after-school activities.”
— Mary Kirkland, Director of Food & Nutrition Services
