The Office of Community Partnerships at Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS) is dedicated to fostering strong, collaborative relationships between schools, families, businesses, and the community to create enriching and supportive learning environments. We believe that it takes a village to ensure student success, and our goal is to build meaningful connections that empower schools and enhance educational opportunities for all students.

What We Do

The Office of Community Partnerships serves as a bridge between schools and the broader community, bringing together businesses, organizations, and individuals who are passionate about supporting education. Through our key initiatives, we create opportunities for collaboration, volunteerism, and resource sharing that directly impact the lives of students and educators.

Our Key Initiatives

  • Adopt a School Program: Partnering schools with local businesses and organizations to provide customized support and resources that address each school’s unique needs.
  • Volunteer Programs: Engaging community members to contribute their time and skills to enrich student learning and provide vital support to schools. Ensuring every school has a dedicated individual responsible for coordinating volunteer efforts and maintaining strong community ties by coordinating the Site Volunteer Coordinators
  • Business Partnerships: Establishing relationships with businesses and organizations to bring financial resources, in-kind donations, and expertise to our schools.

Together, we are creating a culture of collaboration that helps PGCPS students thrive academically, socially, and personally. By engaging with community partners, we are building a network of support that enhances educational excellence and opens doors to new opportunities for our students and schools.

Community Partnerships Key Initiatives

We lead a variety of initiatives that connect our schools and students with the resources they need:

Adopt a School Program: Businesses and organizations partner directly with schools to provide ongoing support and resources tailored to specific needs.  Our partnerships with businesses bring financial support, expertise, and resources that are essential to student and teacher success.

 

Volunteer Programs: Community members contribute their time and talents to enhance the educational experience for students.  Each school has a dedicated coordinator to manage volunteer efforts and ensure a smooth, effective process.

 

Back-to-School Supply Drive: An annual event where the community comes together to provide backpacks and supplies to students in need.

Our Impact

Thanks to our partners and volunteers, we’ve distributed over 16,000 backpacks to students, connected schools with over 125 business partners, and supported countless initiatives that have improved the educational experience for thousands of students across Prince George’s County. Together, we’re making a difference.
