What is TutorMe?

TutorMe is an online tutoring platform that connects students to live tutors, 24 hours a day in over 300 subjects, right from their home. Their network of over 10,000 verified tutors has helped more than half a million students improve their grades, understand difficult concepts, or just get help with simple questions! Students can even have their papers reviewed using TutorMe’s Writing Lab, which provides detailed feedback on their essays or reports in less than 12 hours.

Who are the tutors at TutorMe?

Tutors are highly vetted and background-checked. 78% of TutorMe tutors hold an advanced degree, and all tutors complete a training with TutorMe that aligns to CRLA Level One, the college-level tutoring standard. Our tutors are subject experts in multiple fields, from kindergarten all the way to post-grad.

How does my student access TutorMe?

Students can click the TutorMe icon in Clever to be automatically logged in to their school account. Students should not go directly to TutorMe.com, since this will not log them in and they’ll be unable to access tutoring.

How does my student find a tutor?

  • Once they’ve logged in, students can click the green button labelled “Connect with a Live Tutor”, then select the subject they’d like help with. High school students can simply type in the subject they’re looking for, like ‘calculus’ or ‘US history’. Elementary and middle school students should begin their search with the words ‘elementary’ or ‘middle school’, to make sure they find a tutor for their grade level.
  • Once they’ve selected the subject, students can add more details about what they’d like help with - for example, “I need help with my English homework” or “I don’t understand the Pythagorean Theorem”. Students can also upload any assignments they have.
  • Once a student has connected with a tutor, the student can choose between chat, audio/video, and screensharing to work with the tutor in a shared learning space.

What should I do if my student has trouble accessing a tutor or has trouble logging in?

Click on the chat support icon on the bottom-right corner of TutorMe.com, and you’ll be connected to our Customer Support team so they can solve your issue!

How do I know what is happening online with my student?

All lessons and messages on the TutorMe site are monitored and recorded, using both state-of-the-art software and our in-house Quality Assurance team. Administrators from your school can access the transcript from your student’s lessons. Students and tutors also have the opportunity to rate each other when the lesson is complete.

What if my student really likes a certain TutorMe tutor?

Students can ‘Favorite’ the tutors that they like, so that they can easily see which ones they would like to work with again. The Favorite tutors will appear on the right hand side of the screen when your student logs in, so your student will be able to see if that tutor is available.

Can I schedule a session in advance?

Students or parents can chat directly with a tutor through the TutorMe platform to arrange a time to meet. TutorMe rules require that students and tutors always use the TutorMe platform to communicate, for everyone’s safety.
