Jordan, who holds a 4.24 GPA, is a member of the National, Math and Social Studies Honor Societies, and a Peer Forward Leader, connecting students to college. He has been recognized as the Biology Student of the Year (2019) and a College Board National African-American Recognition Program Scholar (2021).
Jordan believes that maintaining character and striving for excellence are essential and says his faith has helped to shape him into the person he is today.
In his community, Justin has baked, packaged, and delivered meals to veterans, firefighters, and the homeless with the help of his mom. He has also volunteered at the Howard University School of Divinity and the Kairos Prison Ministry.
Jordan has been accepted to Morehouse University, Morgan University, Virginia State University, Jackson State University, Elizabeth City University, and Grambling State University. He plans to major in biomedical engineering with hopes to own his own engineering company.
In his spare time he enjoys working as the technology director for an event company, spending time with family and friends and watching sports.
Oluwakemi Abiodun is a senior at Charles H. Flowers High School and enrolled in the Science and Technology program.
Oluwakemi, who holds a 4.48 GPA, plans to attend the University of Maryland College Park and major in biology. She loves to serve others and hopes to attend Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine to pursue a career as a pediatric surgeon.
Oluwakemi is the President of the Principal's Action Council, and Vice President of the National English Honor Society. She has received several awards to include the PGCPS Spirit of Service Award, Minds in Motion Scholar Athlete, Principal's Honor Roll and NIH-YCC Best Intern.
In her spare time she enjoys playing sports, spending time with her family and volunteering at her church.
Meet Krystal Amihere, future anesthesiologist and pillar in her community! The future is bright for senior Krystal Amihere, who attends the Academy of Health Sciences at Prince George’s Community College. Growing up with positive role models like her mom and grandmother, this future anesthesiologist knows first hand the benefits of working hard and the importance of helping those in need.
Krystal is an active member in her community and is the co-founder of CNK Health Services, a non-profit organization whose mission is to not only help the homeless and underprivileged but to make the world a better place for all. Through her non-profit, she has donated non-perishable food and sanitary items to local food pantries, and created thank you cards for healthcare workers during the pandemic.
Krystal works alongside the PGCPS student member of the board on the student services task force and is a member of the Literary Magazine Club. She has received numerous awards to include Celebrating our Girls STEM Annual Award, President’s Volunteer Service Award and the Student Advisory Council’s Busy Body of the Year Auxiliary Award.
In addition to earning a high school diploma, Krystal holds a 4.2 GPA and will graduate with an Associate’s Degree in general studies eager to study biology at a four-year university.
In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, binge watching shows and spending time with her family and friends.
Meet DaMarr Savoy, a senior in the IT Academy at Gwynn Park High School who is also dual enrolled at Prince George’s Community College and University of Maryland College Park!
Hailing from what he calls an "academically competitive" family, DaMarr is well on his way to the top of the leaderboard! With a 4.25 GPA, he is working toward graduating at the top of his class with future goals to own a tech business.
Additionally, DaMarr is a member of the Air Force Junior ROTC and has earned several accolades including the National Retired Enlisted Association Award, National Sojourners Award and Principal’s Award for exceptional leadership. When he's not studying, DaMarr enjoys helping his family and taking road trips.
