UPPER MARLBORO, MD — Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS) Superintendent Millard House II has released his 90-day Report, a roadmap highlighting immediate actions and future strategies for the school system.

Mr. House was appointed Superintendent in July 2023 after leading the Houston Independent School District. Since then, he has engaged with thousands of students, families, educators, community members, elected officials and business leaders through touch points including his Listen. Lead. Learn. Town Hall series, surveys, community events and more.

This community engagement culminated in the report, which outlines key actions and initiatives aimed at transforming PGCPS into a premier educational environment.

“Connecting with the community has been instrumental in understanding not only the needs of our district but also the countless opportunities — and my 90-Day Report is truly a testament to a collective effort,” said Superintendent Millard House II. “This report will guide our work together supporting students and families, while also fostering operational excellence and efficiency in PGCPS schools and offices.”

Initiatives outlined in the 90-Day Report align with four focus areas House identified in his Entry Plan when he took the helm of PGCPS: equitable teaching and learning environments; proactive safety and security; a strong operational and financial core; and meaningful family and community engagement.

Immediate actions in the report include strengthening ties with parent and community leaders, enhancing school safety and an audit focused on improving reliability of transportation services for the district’s 85,000 school bus riders.

The plan also identifies key outcomes, such as new strategies for serving special education students, improving customer service, staffing and recruitment; the establishment of advisory teams for students, principals, and teachers, a potential expansion of Parent Engagement Assistants to strengthen the home-school connection, and a new Legislative Platform to guide advocacy efforts.
