Your Voice Matters More Than Ever!

Earlier this year, we launched the development of our new strategic plan, grounded in a shared commitment to excellence, equity, and opportunity for every student. Since then, students, families, staff, and community partners have helped us identify priorities through surveys, listening sessions, and community conversations.

Today, we are proud to share the draft of our new Strategic Plan, and we need your input to ensure the plan is clear, actionable, and aligned to our vision for student success:

Excellence everywhere! Every classroom. Every child. Every day.

What We Heard From You

Your voice has shaped this draft from the very beginning.

Across engagement efforts, several themes emerged. There is a strong focus on student achievement and real-world readiness. There is a need for greater support for student well-being and safe learning environments. Stakeholders emphasized investment in staff development and retention. Many called for expanded access to rigorous and engaging learning opportunities. There is also a desire for deeper family and community partnerships.

These insights reflect a shared vision for a school system that meets the needs of every learner, and they are embedded throughout this draft plan.

It’s important that we look at how to reach the different types of learners in every classroom. We need to be more intentional with our instructional methods and ensure teachers are equipped with the right tools to support the diversity of learning styles.

Parent opportunities are mostly limited to PTA events. I would like more chances to regularly support student learning and well-being, both academically and socially.

Connect (instruction) to my college and career goals by allowing more hands-on experiences, connecting material to real-world events, or making correlations regarding a taught topic and career to promote career readiness.

Now It Is Time to Refine It Together: Share Your Feedback by June 15

We are now entering a critical phase. Refining the draft with your feedback.

Your perspectives will help ensure the final plan reflects the needs, priorities, and aspirations of our entire community. This step is essential before the plan is finalized and implemented across the district.

We invite you to review the draft plan and share your thoughts through our stakeholder feedback form by June 15.

What Happens Next

We will review stakeholder input for recurring themes, areas of alignment, and opportunities for refinement as we finalize the strategic plan. The plan will then be presented for approval, with implementation across the district beginning July 1, 2026.

This multi-phase process ensures the final plan is both community-informed and results-driven.

Thank you for your partnership, your voice, and your commitment to Prince George's County Public Schools!
