As summer break kicks off, PGCPS encourages families to take full advantage of the resources available to stay connected, keep students learning, and prepare for a strong start in the fall.

  1. Stay Connected: Sign Up for ParentVUE
Don't miss important summer updates. ParentVUE gives you real-time access to grades, attendance, schedules, and messages from your child's school.

Activate or sign up for ParentVUE

  2. Keep Students Learning: Summer Spark
Avoid the "summer slide" with free Summer Learning Spark resources. From interactive games and reading lists to service learning and creative projects, there's something for every grade level.

    Explore Summer Spark

  3. Fuel Up This Summer: Free Meals at School Sites
Beginning Monday, July 7 through August 8, students can enjoy free breakfast and lunch at designated school and community sites.

  4. Get Ahead on Immunizations
Avoid the back-to-school rush - schedule your child's required vaccinations now.

    Download Maryland vaccine requirements (PDF)

    • Key reminders:
      • Kindergarten: Two doses of Varicella (chickenpox)
      • Grade 7: One dose each of Tdap and Meningococcal (MCV4) vaccines are required

  5. Complete Transitional Registration
Ensure your child is registered for the next school year. Families of students entering Pre-K, kindergarten, 6th or 9th grade - or changing schools - should complete transitional enrollment in ParentVUE

  6. Keep Wellness First
PGCPS is supporting student health all summer long!

Hazel Healthoffers free virtual physical and mental health visits, Monday through Friday. Services are multilingual and accessible from home.

Have a safe, healthy and engaging summer! Stay tuned to pgcps.org and follow @PGCPS on social media for ongoing updates.
