Climate Communication and Science-Tools for Educators and Lessons Learned on Speaking Effectively, Accurately, and Productively!

On August 29, 2024, the Schmidt Center hosted a full-day training on climate change communication.  Over 50 PGCPS staff gathered to learn from experts and explore effective strategies for teaching about climate science and solutions.

Student Environmental Alliance Summit: April 29, 2024

The 2024 Student Environmental Alliance Summit (SEAS), inspired high school students to take action on climate change. U.S. Deputy Commerce Secretary Don Graves delivered the keynote address, sharing President Biden's priorities and highlighting career opportunities in the green sector.

SEAS students had hands-on environmental experience, collaborating with Smithsonian experts from the Environmental Research Center and National Zoo. Over 30 environmental organizations, including National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration and the Natural Resource Defence Council, offered internship information and community action resources.
