Commit to Low Carbon School Transportation

PGCPS is committed to a cleaner, healthier environment for our students.  As part of our Climate Change Action Plan Priority 4, we've prioritized transitioning to all electric school buses by 2040. To support this transition, we are currently in the design phase of developing a solar-powered microgrid at the Mullikin Bus Lot to support the charging infrastructure of up to 90 electric buses.

This innovative infrastructure will not only charge our electric buses but also serve as a resiliency hub, ensuring school buses continue to operate during power outages that are often caused by extreme weather. By investing in sustainable transportation and resilient infrastructure, we're safeguarding the health of our students and protecting our environment.
