SY 25-26 Specialty Programs Guidelines for Selecting a Waitlisted Offer in a High School Program

Congratulations! Your child is eligible for one or more Prince George’s County Public Schools High School Specialty Programs.

All eligible students are required to make their selection for their program of choice by March 26, 2025.

Additionally, registration documentation must be submitted no later than April 4, 2025. We strongly encourage uploading this information via Synergy. Waitlist and Program Change Guidelines

We understand that while a student may be eligible for a program, they may also be placed on a waitlist for their first-choice program. To support students in pursuing their true passion, we have established the following guidelines:

• If your child accepts a seat in a Specialty Program but remains on a waitlist for their first-choice program, they may switch programs if called off the waitlist.  However, this change is only allowed once during the cycle.
• If a program contacts you with an offer from the waitlist and you choose to switch, the change must be completed by the deadline set by the Program Coordinator.
• Once a change is made, the decision cannot be reversed, as vacated seats will be offered to other students.
