I am a product of Prince George’s County Public Schools, and my days at Parkdale High School were some of the best days of my life. Parkdale was where my teachers, coaches, and peers planted the belief in me that I was special and that I could accomplish anything I was willing to work for. I was fortunate to grow up in an environment that was ripe with encouragement, competition, opportunity, and people who believed in me. That is where I developed my confidence—not just as a basketball player, but as a young man. I learned to believe that I belonged in any room I entered and that with preparation, hard work, and perseverance, there were no limits on what I could achieve. That confidence carried me from the classrooms and basketball courts of Prince George’s County to college, corporate America, entrepreneurship, and real estate development.

“Largo High School offered me the opportunity to be a part of the Bio-Tech and Magnet Program that [helped me excel] further in education. In the 11th grade I was afforded the opportunity to take college credit courses at Prince George's Community College. It was such a great experience, especially for the African American Community to have that higher education opportunity early in your education. To the students of PGCPS, I know it’s cliche but stay in school, pay attention in class because it really does matter. Connect with teachers, administrators and like-minded students that can take you to where you really want to be. Utilize the lessons learned and experiences and don’t let anyone limit you.”

“Attending Potomac High School helped lay the foundation for my career as a journalist. I am forever grateful for the teachers, guidance counselors, staff, and mentors who saw my talent and potential as a young student. They poured into me, encouraged me to be myself, and pushed me to pursue my dream of becoming a journalist. They also helped me navigate some of the darkest times of my life, without judgment or shame. I will never forget the lessons I learned, the choir and ROTC trips, the college tours, and all of the activities and clubs I was a part of. My time in the schools helped me uncover my love for storytelling -- and those PGCPS values of resilience, ambition, and community helped me take my love for storytelling, turn it into a passion for writing, and work hard until I became an award-winning children's author. He was selected for an elite 10-week summer journalism internship at Morgan State University, where he'll travel and report on major events tied to the tournament. “As a proud former PGCPS student at Central High School, the values and lessons instilled in me through this program have prepared me for everything life has thrown my way. PGCPS didn't just give me an education — it gave me discipline, resilience, and the mindset to keep pushing even when things get hard. To every student coming up: believe in yourself, stay consistent, and never let your circumstances define your ceiling. CVPA gave me my foundation and then some. Music was my focus, but the bold personalities around me became my earliest character studies, a skill that later took me to HBO and BET. And somewhere between the rehearsals and the hustle of that program, I learned resourcefulness and how to navigate the entertainment business like a professional. Those lessons have carried me to Grammy stages, international tours, and beyond. PGCPS didn't just shape the singer. It shaped the businesswoman."
