Curriculum and Instruction During Distance Learning

While distance learning will not be structured as a typical school day, we do expect to maintain key aspects of the classroom experience: collaboration with peers, daily lessons and experimentation with individualized and innovative techniques. Our distance learning model will be inclusive of a blend of approaches to learning activities; independent, self-paced work; virtual office hours to check for understanding and submission of assignments. This is to maintain an academic connection and flexibility for students, teachers, and families.

The Division of Academics has adapted their curriculum for delivery in a virtual environment. Students will receive lessons from their classroom and/or assigned teachers. All lessons will be available through Google Classroom. An invitation to join each Google Classroom will come to their PGCPS student email address. Once they have joined, their work and engagement with teachers will be facilitated through Google Classroom.

There are several district and community resources that are available to students and families to support distance learning throughout the first semester. Check out various resources at and a few listed below: 

Library Books/Digital Resources:

Students and may check out Ebooks and other digital resources through the
online catalog, Follett Destiny, and will continue to have access to online research databases 24/7 from school/home


Students will have digital access to textbooks for their assigned core courses through Clever. Clever, a service that all teachers and students in PGCPS have access to, brings digital tools and textbooks into a secure portal. 


Live tutoring is available in English and Spanish from 1 PM - 11:55 PM EST through the Prince George’s County Memorial Library System. Practice long division, improve reading comprehension, and learn other key skills. Submit a writing sample to the Writing Lab and get feedback to help you better organize and present your thoughts and information.
